Creating and Cloning Programs

Each of the nine system menus, in turn, has slots for nine programs.

You can either (a) create a program from scratch or (b) clone an existing program and tweak it to come up with a new program and file.

First, create or activate a menu. Then use one of the menu slots to create a program.

Creating a menu

Go to systems menu. To find out if Menu 1 is active, click [Menu 1]...

If active, its lower level menu is displayed - proceed to Creating a program section below.

If not active, this message is displayed:

To activate Menu 1, click the hammer, to go to the system menu designer, and click [Menu 1] so that its details appear on the panel:

Click [Create] to show the Create System options...

Select [Create system from scratch] and close the system menu designer.

Back at the systems menu, click the newly created Menu 1.

Creating a program

A newly created menu looks like this:

If you want to hide need the labels or rename Menu 1, click the [hammer] to flip to design mode.

For now, we just want to create a program and assign it to program 1 slot. Click the hammer to display the designer panel, and click [Program 1] so that its details appear on the panel:

Click [Create] to show the different options:

Select [create data entry]...

and browse through the library of screens:

If you want to use the above screen for the new program, then [Get the current screen].

The menu is updated. The new program is Sample Sales Transactions ... with date/time stamp.

There are several screens in the library. You can use a special program to add your own screens to the library.

Click [Close] to return to Menu 1. [Sample Sales Transactions...] opens the newly created program.

Cloning a program

Instead of creating a data entry program, you may want to clone an existing spreadsheet.

From Create Program options of designer panel, select [Clone a spreadsheet].

Select a spreadsheet and [Continue]...

An image of the spreadsheet is displayed. Click [Clone]. There is option to include the records.

On return to program menu, the cloned spreadsheet should be fully operational.
