GenRe's Corporate Reporting

GenRe's approach to corporate reporting is inexpensive, simple and quick.

From the databases, a set of de-normalized comma-separated values files are created periodically using a fixed set of extraction programs. Flat files have simple structures and the LCD (least common denominator) of all databases. De-normalization facilitates reporting.

The flat files are copied to a PC where GenRe is installed. Each file has a maximum of 2,000,000 records.

To create a report, flat files are import-aggregated by end users into GenRe files, each GenRe file containing a maximum of 20,000 records.

Next, users combine, slice and dice GenRe files to come up with reports.

GenRe is inexpensive because a server or database is not needed. It is installed in minutes and on-going technical support is not required. Simple enough for non-technical users to operate after a few hours of training. And they create, clone and modify reports on the fly.
